It appears as though the Zune has capabilities that have only recently been noted but have never been touted by Microsoft. Apparently it can record FM radio according to AARC's (Alliance of Artists and Recording Companies) Linda Bocchi who has made recent statements that the Zune is capable of making recordings form FM with a simple and likely firmware update and thus may fall under the Audio Home Recording Act of 1982 in which recording devices carry a small royalty fee per unit sold. She said: "Zune is going in another direction. People can record off of FM radio, and share from one Zune player to another. It's moving away from the direction set by the iPod, and it's a grey area."
This would certainly indicate that she has knowledge of Zune’s inherent capabilities that no one else has even mentioned thus far. So who knows perhaps Zune’s capabilities are, in fact, extended already in version one, we can only hope. Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register.
