Robbie Bach, the head of Microsoft’s entertainment and devices division has stated that the Zune is not expected to catch on anytime Zune (we had to do that), at least not at a pace which will allow the company to keep from losing hundreds of millions of dollars over the next few years.

Some analysts have suggested that losses could be as high as $500,000,000 before the iPod rival can start to turn a profit. Nevertheless, Xbox which has lost more than that in its five years since arriving is considered by almost all financial experts as an overwhelming success.
