Jason Chen, one of our friends at Gizmodo reports that someone has sent him a tip about an incident with airport security over the Zune!
I thought this sounded interesting, so I decided to investigate. Here’s what we know: There appears to be a Micorosft employee that carried with them a Zune while traveling, security officials forced this insider to check his Laptop and Cell phone which is routine these days.
However, when security saw the Zune player and didn’t recognize it as any portable device they’re aware of (and who other than true techie's are?), they not only didn’t allow him to carry it on, they didn’t even permit him to check it. What? That’s right! They, instead, required him to surrender the Zune and mailed it back to his office (I think they just wanted to test it out before it hits the market – hehe). I ask you, would this have happened to the iPod? No, is the obvious answer. Well, of course I’m just kidding around, we all know the reason why this happened, the zune is not yet available to the general public and thus very few people know of it’s existence, that will all change over the next several months and into the future.
