Hey, good news for Zuners accross our northern border, PC has just given it's review and it looks like Zune is a hit, sort of. Although they actually discuss the difficulties making inroads in to the market dominated by, what we all know is the lesser player iPud, in the end they actually seem to like the player very much. I don't know about you but I'm kinda glad MS took their collective time in introducing the Zune to other parts of the world. I think that in time it will become commonplace to see the little player that could in the hands of people all across the world but giving the device too much exposure all at once would have been a mistake. Look at it this way, this player has only been around for 1 1/2 years compared to the iPud which has been here longer than Steve Jobs has been wearing those freakin' turtlenecks. You know what's funny? Every time I hear someone (usually an adolescent) say Zune's suck! Why? Because they likely have never even seen one (not necessarily good news for Zune) but that's it. They simply have never used one, and don't know how tough and useful (Superior) they are compared to iPud (yeah, I know I said iPud instead of iPod so sue me). As I was think about this earlier today I began to search for others who shared this outlook and discovered this post by Glenn on Live Spaces. In it here writes: Yesterday morning my Zune 30 fell out of my shirt pocket and fell into a bucket of water. Even though I plucked it out in a few seconds, I really figured that it was lost. This isn't the first time that I've drowned a piece of electronics. My Nokia 8290 comes to mind. Well, the Zune 30 dried out and worked fine. I'm amazed. I really had no expectations that it would still work. Now, would an iPod have survived it?
So, once again we see another )albeit few) how have had the pleasure of using the vastly more reliable Zune.Write Comment (0 Comments) |

It has been announced that the popular video game store Gamestop will cease selling any Zune items effective immediately. When we heard this news we started to wonder why they were selling them in the first place. When I think of Gamestop I certainly don't think about mp3 players or other such media devices. I think about one think VIDEO GAMES. And, I'm sure I am not alone on this. Anyway, I doubt this is going to hurt Zune's recent surge in sales and reviews, overall things are going pretty dawg gone good for the little player that could. Bye, bye Gamestop! In a stunning announcement NPD group, a leading market research firm based here in the US is reporting that for the first time in history, sales of cellphones has dropped, but not by a mere couple percentage points but rather a massive 22% falloff. It's difficult to gauge why something like this would happen out of the blue. Whatever the reason this is likely to have some stirring effects on the mobile phone market. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

According to a report by

of the immensely popular SeattlePI.com website, Microsoft plans on initiating advertisements over it's Zune Social network. Todd stated: "one of the first projects to emerge from an advertising business group established inside Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division, working quietly behind the scenes since last fall. It's one of the ways that Microsoft is trying to expand its footprint beyond standard online display ads and Internet search ads, where the company has struggled to gain ground against Google" This comes as Microsoft is apparently attempting to expand it's entire advertising zone by looking for less traditional means of advertising , such as with that of mobile phones and possibly through their "Surface " tabletop PC. This should be very interesting to see how MS plans to implement this new form of advertising, hopefully the ads will be cool, as most of the Zune ads have been thus far. And, I also hope the ads will be unobtrusive as well. Write Comment (0 Comments) |
